Lakeridge Health Corporation

The Lakeridge Health Corporation is the governing body of hospitals in the Ontario towns of Oshawa, Whitby, Scugog and Clarington. The organization was created in November 1997 to oversee Memorial Hospital Bowmanville, North Durham Health Services (consisting of the Community Memorial Hospital Port Perry and the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital), Oshawa General Hospital and Whitby General Hospital.

The corporation was responsible for the amalgamation of Durham health services under the Common Sense Revolution of the Mike Harris government. It consolidated their holdings into five hospital sites - Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Lakeridge Health Port Perry, Lakeridge Health Uxbridge and Lakeridge Health Whitby. Lakeridge Health Uxbridge was subsequently transferred to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Corporation in 2004.

North Durham Health Services

North Durham Health Services (NDHS) was a briefly lived health corporation in Regional Municipality of Durham. The organization was founded in April 1997 when, under the Common Sense Revolution, Community Memorial Hospital Port Perry was amalgamated with Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.

The corporation ceased to exist in 1998, when Community Memorial was placed under the administration of the Lakeridge Health Corporation.
